Job Summary

This position will be responsible for accurately tracking, analyzing, and reporting on projects/jobs as well as performing closing responsibilities and analysis.

Responsibilities/Duties

Job Duties

  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process for various companies, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform variance analysis.

  • Compile and review financial statements and reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Track and monitor job costs, ensuring they are recorded accurately and complete job cost adjustments as necessary.

  • Collaborate with project managers to update project forecasts.

  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other departments to support accounting needs.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.

  • Assist in external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus.

  • 2-4 years of Accounting related experience with a focus on closing and job cost accounting. Construction Industry preferred. Public Accounting experience is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work well with a variety of personalities and levels within the organization.

  • Must be able and comfortable visiting job sites when necessary.

  • Valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to travel locally and throughout Virginia.

  • Ability to pass background check.
