Job Description:

The Office of Admissions is currently recruiting outgoing and motivated Federal Work Study student assistants to serve as the initial point of contact for students, faculty, and staff.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Customer Service: Act as an ambassador for the Office of Admissions and the University of Florida by being the initial point of contact for guests in the Office of Admissions lobby in Criser Hall. Will be expected to provide accurate information and answer questions related to the Office of Admissions, assist students with various forms, and direct guests to various locations within the building.

  • Clerical: Assist Transfer Evaluation staff with the evaluation and posting of transfer and test credit to student records, verifying accreditation standards of U.S. educational institutions, and receiving and uploading of electronic transcripts from approved vendors. May also collaborate with Applicant Services staff with constituent support and services regarding application processing, documentation processing and routing, and residency for tuition purposes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$12/hour

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a Federal Work-Study award for Summer 2024 (to locate your Financial Aid Award Page, go tohttps://one.uf.edu/financialaid/aidyear)

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Federal Work-Study award and availability for Fall 2024

  • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and courteous

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality, and exercise good judgment

  • Demonstrate professional etiquette

  • Ability to identify priorities and shift when necessary
