We are currently looking for a Senior PD Project Management Specialist to join our Released Product Engineering (RPE) team supporting the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health (NMPH) Operating Units (OU) in Fridley, Minnesota at our Rice Creek facility. Work at coordinating and facilitating engineering projects in a dynamic environment supporting fielded implantable Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Pelvic Health (PH), Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD), and Interventional Pain systems and products. This will be a hybrid position, with the expectation that the individual will work onsite at least 3 days per week at Medtronic’s Rice Creek facility, working with cross-functional teams. Anticipated business travel for this position is minimal.

In this exciting role as a Senior PD Project Management Specialist-Released Product Engineering , you will:

  • Organize, facilitate, and/or lead R&D engineering and quality personnel in the evaluation, action planning and execution, and documentation of product nonconformances (NCs).

  • Organize, coordinate, and document design-related product and Quality Management System (QMS) CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) issues.

  • Support the NMPH Change Control Board (CCB) in its role of reviewing design control evidence and approving a large and varied portfolio of design, manufacturing, and supplier associated changes.

  • Work with a wide variety of products within implantable NMPH systems that utilize the latest technologies across several therapies.

  • Author quality records for NCs and CAPAs that clearly and effectively describe the quality-driven work. Write narratives of this work that are clear and concise and will be easily comprehended by stakeholders (e.g., CAPA Board, regulatory bodies, etc.).

  • Develop and maintain data sources, and produce associated data metrics and visualizations, that communicate status and portfolio health of NC, CAPA, and change control projects.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead or leverage cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies.

  • Oversee and manage ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between individual team members and project management or line management.

  • Manage the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new, changed, or existing products and processes.

  • Author quality records that demonstrate and clearly articulate Medtronic’s compliance to quality system regulations for issues associated with released products.

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Facilitate the use of root cause analysis and problem-solving tools with small teams.

  • Identify project/timeline risks, develop mitigation plans, and/or escalate to management with appropriate judgment.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms (e.g., metrics, visual dashboards, etc.) for monitoring work portfolio progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and cross-functional team members.

  • Communicate with stakeholder(s), influence peers (without direct authority) to effectively complete work, and obtain stakeholder engagement to ensure the project outcomes will solve the business and quality problems.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in a relevant technical discipline.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience. Examples: working in a program/project management, project coordination, product management, and/or project analyst role.

  • Experience in using root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.

  • Experience working as part of or leading a team in a released product (i.e., sustaining life cycle) environment.

  • Medical device industry experience (preferably with Class III implantable devices).

  • Experience working in a regulated environment.

  • Experience working in an R&D (Product Development) or Quality functional area.

  • Previous work on or familiarity with nonconformance and/or CAPA workflows and success criteria.

  • Strong experience working across a matrixed organization using written and verbal skills to communicate and understand cross-functional teams’ interactions and responsibilities.

  • Influence management skills: experience working collaboratively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.

  • Experience owning MS Project schedules.

  • Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., MS Copilot) to automate or save time/resources in the completion of repetitive activity in a professional (or any) setting.

  • Experience organizing project task completion data, reducing the data, and presenting it effectively in visual mediums (e.g., dashboards, charts/graphs, slides) with use of tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or similar) that enable metrics for team efficacy, portfolio health, or similar.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$109,600.00 - $164,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
