About you this Role

Do you have broad knowledge of chemistry and a strong foundation of chemical principles that you can use to select appropriate technology, develop project scope, and execute projects? Are you a team player who requires minimal supervision and can manage and execute your work independently? Do you have good prioritization and organizational skills and demonstrated competencies in the areas of initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness? As aProcess Analytical Specialist,you will have the opportunity to work with a broad team of technicians, scientists, and engineers from different cultures and countries. You will be expected to balance workload across different priorities and effectively communicate with key stakeholders to serve Dow businesses effectively. Documentation of your work through technical reports, project reports, and project packages will also be a priority to ensure that your efforts have a lasting impact.

Responsibilities

  • Address problems of technical complexity, often as a part of multifunctional teams, to identify challenges for which you propose innovative solutions and develop Dow Proprietary state-of-art technologies. You will use and apply the Scientific Method for projects and problem solving, as appropriate.

  • Provide analytical technology and process chemistry expertise to resolve process, product, and analytical problems.

  • Develop and implement technical solutions for problems that are well defined within a project area, through new development or leveraging existing solutions, as appropriate. You do this by staying current with developments in relevant areas of chemistry and technology.

  • Serve as a peer coach and provide constructive advice on projects within the team, to contribute to the effective functioning of the team.

  • Using your strong communication skills, you modify communication appropriately to internal and external audiences, including presenting your work externally. You document work in internal reporting systems, external publications, and patent applications.

  • Lead by example, influencing others to work safely by demonstrating a commitment to safety, applying Dow's safety standards to your work, and encouraging others to do the same.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% to support business need.

  • Possession of a TWIC card or eligibility to obtain a TWIC card is required for this position. Per the US Government and Department of Homeland Security policy and regulations, you may apply for a TWIC card if you are a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, naturalized citizen or a nonimmigrant alien, asylee, or refugee who is in lawful status.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science.

  • Prior experience with process analyzers / instruments or analytical equipment.

  • Basic understanding of Engineering Principles.

  • Ability to work effectively working both independently and within a team environment.
