Fortive Corporation Staff Accountant in Franklin, Tennessee
The Staff Accountant is a member of the core accounting team responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization. This role works closely with the Corporate Controller to perform all accounting duties around month-end close processes, Revenue recognition and SAAS subscription revenue recognition, and control procedures in support of the Company’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance of internal controls.
Specific Responsibilities
Perform a hands-on role in the month end closing process while adhering to deadlines, including preparing journal entries and underlying support and preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances.
Integral part of quote to cash process, including providing guidance and as needed assistance to invoicing team to ensure customer contracts are processed and recorded in revenue accurately.
Research, establish and maintain Company accounting policies.
Assist in the administration of the Company’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance including supporting control owners in timely completion and documentation of assigned controls.
Maintain complete and accurate deferred revenue and unbilled receivable accounts.
Assist with customer-related internal and external inquiries, including review of customer concessions and cancellations in support of the invoicing and collection teams.
Work closely with internal audit team in supporting annual audit requirements.
Implement process and systems improvements to create and sustain efficient and scalable business processes.
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
Assist with preparation for year-end audit and requests.
Manage cash reimbursements and employee advances.
Perform other duties and projects and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Highly detail oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office – Primarily Excel
Experience working with financial reporting applications
Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities
Financial business acumen and ability to communicate both internally and externally
Proficiency in QuickBooks helpful
Prior experience with government invoicing helpful
Experience in healthcare accounting helpful
Education, Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years’ experience in related accounting or public accounting role
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
CPA (Active or Inactive) preferred
Proven ability to take initiative and be proactive, with the desire to grow and learn
Experience working for a fast-paced growing company
Technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of ASC 606.

The salary range for this position (inclusive of sales incentives/commission) is $45,700.00 - $84,800.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
