Community Health Systems Cardiovascular Clinical Informatics Optimization Specialist in Franklin, Tennessee

Job Summary

The Clinical Informatics optimization specialist is a subject matter expert who assists with planning, design, development, testing, end user training, implementation support, and adoption of Electronic Health Record to achieve clinical transformation that results in improved patient care outcomes, end user efficiency and financial outcomes. The Specialist will understand the cardiovascular department workflow and required documentation and apply this knowledge in the support of build and implementation and of clinical systems specific to Cardiovascular Services, all departments.

Essential Functions

  • Support the facility Cardiovascular space and IT staff with both clinical and technical details required to trouble shoot issues

  • Support CHS Senior Directors of Cardiovascular Service Line in executing related changes and resolving issues

  • Lead/facilitate work-groups charged with defining design options and making design recommendations

  • Assist manager, clinical informatics and the associate chief medical information officer in translating the optimization initiatives into specific changes in the EHR that are executable.

  • Effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams and manage and execute change in a complex multi facility environment

  • Participate in creating test scenarios and conducting user acceptance testing.

  • Help with regulatory requirements with abstracting teams by ensuring they have the appropriate access to data collection

  • Develop training materials for end users to assist with deployment of changes, exhibit excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work products, ensure up to date project documentation

  • Provides reporting assistance and serves as a subject matter expert to the clinical informatics to facilitate data driven changes to achieve meaningful outcomes; provides summaries of Cardiovascular systems/clinical systems issues and to business partners to enable meaningful collaboration and address specific clinical questions/scenarios to facilitate timely resolution

  • Supporting the business partners and facilities to convert from existing coldfeed integration to full HL7 interface integration

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree

  • Commitment to complete Bachelors of Science

  • 10+ years of clinical experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of facility-based clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and informatics principles.

  • Proficiency in clinical information systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and healthcare software solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with facility staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing system performance and implementing facility-specific improvements.

  • Understanding of clinical processes and medical terminology.

  • Ability to train and develop clinical staff on the use of health information systems.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certification in health informatics (e.g., CPHIMS, RHIA, or related) preferred

  • Active clinical licensure (e.g., RN, RT, or related) preferred
