Army National Guard Units ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR - TITLE 32 in Frankfort, Kentucky

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1222000 and is part of the KY CSMS, National Guard. NOTE: Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure. Responsibilities As an ARMAMENT EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR - TITLE 32, WG-6601-10, you will inspect a variety of armament materiel such as artillery, tank turrets and weapons, small arms, chemical weapons and similar materiel. Use test and diagnostic equipment to determine extent of repairs required and assure that repairs or modifications meet quality assurance standards. Inspect equipment received for maintenance to determine repairs needed and parts required or to determine if Modification Work Orders (MWO) have been applied. Inspect equipment to ensure equipment is operating properly. Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed. Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilize established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Prepare lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Perform in-process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Perform final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or reject the work and return the equipment to the repair shop. Inspect equipment as described above at remote worksites in support of field organizations, field units during field exercise training periods, or before major pieces of equipment are sent for repair to a supporting maintenance facility. Serve as inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluation Teams (COMET) and/or as a member of Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT). Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: E4 (SPC) - E6 (SSG) RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems; the ability to recognize improper operation, locate the cause and determine best method of correcting defects; ability to use technical manuals, tools and measuring equipment in making repairs and adjustments. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of weapons equipment. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in weapons systems. Experience demonstrating the ability to inspect all weapons systems. Experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and specifications. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
