We are seeking to fill the position of Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment for the Men\'s Specialty Dementia Unit. ** Mon-Fri; 8:30a to 4:30p ** Activities Assistant Qualifications: High school graduate. Knowledge of arts and crafts, preferably in a geriatric setting. Computer literate with training on entering resident care plan codes (MDS), preferred. Must be able to speak, write and understand English. Activities Assistant Working Conditions: Bending, standing, sitting, lifting, walking and moving intermittently during working hours. Must assist in the evacuation of residents as necessary. Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Job Summary: Assist in planning, organizing and implementing the activities programs of the facility. Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information. Assist the Activity Director with preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident. Review and report on resident assessments. Develop and maintain a good rapport with all the services involved with the care plan. Encourage social communication among residents through group activities and recreation. Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts; provide materials as necessary.
