Job Description
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Development, the Senior Manager, Corporate Development will be part of the Transaction Finance team and play a critical role in evaluating and executing a wide range of strategic transactions, including acquisitions, licensing agreements, strategic partnerships, and equity investments. This role blends deep financial analysis with strategic thinking, requiring you to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and present compelling business cases to senior leadership. In this role, "Transaction Finance" means you will be the financial subject matter expert within the broader corporate development team, with a focus on financial modeling, due diligence, and valuation.
Responsibilities
Build financial models and conduct various quantitative analysis to evaluate a broad range of corporate development opportunities involving strategic partnerships, investments, licensing, and company acquisitions.
Partner with key stakeholders across therapeutic areas, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, research, clinical, commercial, portfolio strategy to develop business and financial proposals that align with Gilead’s mission and growth strategy.
Coordinate and conduct financial diligence efforts for identified opportunities.
Develop presentation materials and review opportunities/business cases with leadership.
Support negotiations of term sheets and definitive agreements
Necessary Skills
Strong skills in financial analysis and the ability to build and interpret complex financial models.
Proficient in Excel and other financial software
Knowledge of various valuation methods, such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions
Understanding of basic deal structures and the ability to think creatively through different options and scenarios.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of drug development and biotech/pharma industry.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills needed,
Experience working with cross-functional teams and presenting business cases to senior leadership,
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience
OR
Ph.D
Preferred Qualifications:
·Prior experience in investment banking, consulting and/or other relevant corporate functions
·B.S./B.A. + 8 or more years of experience or
·M.B.A./Masters + 6 or more years of experience

The salary range for this position is: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
