Position Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Millwrights, the Millwright Mechanic will be accountable for contributing to the ongoing maintenance in the nickel, cobalt, leach, utilities and fertilizer plants within the Sherritt Metals refinery.

This position will be based out of our Fort Saskatchewan plant site.

Accountabilities

  • Complete ongoing maintenance on and accountable for the time, quality and cost for maintaining Pumps, Compressors, Conveyors, Turbines, Gear boxes, Large Stationary and Rotating Equipment plus other daily routine maintenance.

  • Review and understand the scopes of work provided by the Crew Leader and/or Planner on a daily basis including routine maintenance and shutdown activities.

  • Actively participate in safe work procedure reviews, development, and implementation.

  • Prepare accurate and detailed service reports and update existing documentation as required.

  • Adhere to all safety standards and policies and supporting documentation.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Millwright Trade Certification is required

  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial experience

  • Flexible to work regular/periodic shift work is required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong technical abilities and mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent work ethic, attendance and proven positive work performance
