Summary About the Position: Serves as a staff level G9 analyst/technical advisor at HQ ARNORTH (an ASCC), with responsibility for providing expert technical advice and assistance to the G9 Director in one or more Ready and Resilient, Soldier and Family Support Programs functional specialties. Responsibilities Leads analysis, planning and coordination of ARNORTHs risk reduction, suicide prevention, substance abuse, and quality of life programs. Serves as the ASCC Risk Reduction program manager responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing the execution of the command’s risk reduction plan. Serves as the ASCC program manager and subject matter expert for suicide prevention. Plans, manages, and implements an overall drug and alcohol program for ARNORTH ensuring compliance with all components of the program to include required urinalysis testing, command referrals, and prevention training. Leads analysis, planning and coordination of ARNORTH Quality of Life/Family programs designed to improve the readiness and well-being of ARNORTH Soldiers, Families, and Civilians. Evaluates the effectiveness of ARNORTH's Ready and Resilient/Soldier and family readiness programs in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity of standards met, procedural, policy and regulatory compliance and technical accuracy. Serves as the Community Ready and Resilient Integrator for ARNORTH/JBSA working the Commanders Ready and Resilient Council (CR2C) in conjunction with the Prevention Workforce. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing a command's risk reduction program encompassing suicide and substance abuse prevention and quality of life; 2) Analyzing factors and programs that impact readiness, well-being, and discipline of the force; 3) Leading the analysis, planning, and coordination of a command's quality of life/family programs; and 4) Providing materials and training on suicide and substance abuse prevention and family readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Technical Competence Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
