St. Lucie Battery & Tire Accounting Assistant in Fort Pierce, Florida
St Lucie Battery & Tire is looking for a motivated and experienced Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. The Accounting Assistant can expect to assist the Accounting Department with data entry, processing and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, preparing reports, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Additionally, you should understand basic accounting principles and be proficient with computers and software, such as Microsoft GP, and Excel. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies
Processing transactions, applying customer payments, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, etc.
Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies
Handling communications with customers and vendors via phone, email, and in-person
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable
Enter financial transactions into the database
Processing reimbursement forms
Prepare bank deposits
Maintain digital and physical financial records
Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
Hands-on experience with accounting software (Microsoft GP a plus ) and Excel
Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
