SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SECTION Responsibilities You will assist in the development of IT programs and projects while considering the strategic level DoD and USMC directives, plans, policies, and cost estimates. You will implement new systems, correct software/hardware issues in existing systems, and improve performance through systems, software, and hardware upgrades/changes. You will review requirements, plans, ongoing programs, and operational challenges which have system-wide implications; defines engineering required; and recommends research and development projects for improvement. You will be responsible for supporting the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and standards that affect the enterprise network. You will evaluate hardware/software capabilities to satisfy emerging enterprise IT requirements and trends. You will investigate and analyze emerging information technologies and Off-the-Shelf hardware/software products to identify and recommend those appearing to have good potential for successful application. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. (1) Assisting in the development of IT programs and projects while considering the strategic level DoD and USMC directives, plans, policies, and cost estimates. (2) Performing complex assignments relating to planning, implementing, and coordinating Technical Program Manager tasks in support of MARFORCYBER and USMC enterprise initiatives. (3) Evaluating hardware/software capabilities to satisfy emerging enterprise IT requirements and trends such as cloud computing, enterprise information management, DOD and tactical edge networks, zero trust architectures, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. This position is within the Work Category-PROFESSIONAL at Work Level- SENIOR, Series 2210 and Grade GG-13. JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent serves as the DoDIN Plans Deputy located in the DoDIN Plans Division within the Assistant Chief of Staff G-3 Directorate of United States Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) at Fort Meade, Maryland. MARFORCYBER is a functional formation of the United States Marine Corps and a service cyber component under the United States Cyber Command. The organization is charged with operating/defending the Marine Corps Network, conducting Department of Defense Information Network operations, and conducting Offensive Cyberspace Operations when directed. Understanding of Information Technology (IT) Systems and various planning processes; such as the Marine Corps Planning Process, the Military Decision Making Process and the Joint Operations Planning Process is critical for the success of this position. The incumbent requires in depth technical knowledge of IT systems, cyber security concepts, processes and procedures, IT operations and planning, network and critical infrastructure protection, information technology, communications and architecture integration, and military planning processes and procedures.
