US ARMY HUMAN RESOURCES COMMAND (DRU) Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) in Fort Knox, Kentucky

Summary About the Position: Serves as Chief, Officer Board Support Branch, serves as second level supervisor, comprised of Approximately twenty (20) Civilians, who perform clerical and technical, duties in support of the mandatory promotion system for both the Active and Reserve Components of the Department of the Army (DA), located at Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD) at Fort Knox, KY. Responsibilities Develop, and supports the team building process by facilitating employee empowerment, allocating available resources, coaching, mentoring, and assisting employees. Contact and receives phone calls from and coordinates with a variety of personnel (HQDA, HRC, G1, and NGB). Interpret, laws, regulations, procedures, policies, directives, and resolves regulatory interpretation and application issues pertaining to sections of AR 135-155. Explain work requirements, methods, procedures, and gives special instructions on difficult or unusual cases or operations, and technical questions pertaining for work. Assistant information Assurance Security Officer (AIASO) for the Office of Promotions (AC/RC), coordinating, processing, issuing, and resetting passwords. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing a wide variety of inquiries for promotion programs, interpreting a wide variety of applicable laws, regulations, and policy concerning promotion selection boards, responding to a wide variety of inquiries from various sources such as: officers, field commanders, and congressional representatives, regarding post board screening issues, using a number of sophisticated computer software products such as: Spreadsheet software, and the Official Military Personnel file (OMPF), Interactive Personnel Electronic Management System (iPERMS), Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A), Soldier Management System (SMS), the Official Soldier Selection System (OSSS), and the Electronic Military Personnel Office (eMilPO). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Customer Service Legal, Government and Jurisprudence Managing Human Resources Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - NO substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) Military Personnel Management, Career Field 50 position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
