Secret Security Required for all positions

Summary: Role Players will serve as European partner security force staff 07 July 24 to 25 July 24. They will replicate European Partner/Ally Military Forces at the Division/Brigade/Battalion staff officer level executing NATO staff planning processes. All contractors shall possess operational and cultural knowledge of the region and possess the capacity to replicate their respective positions.

Former US ARMY Ranks E6 – 06 with experience in individual roles listed below:

Unit Commanders Role Player

  • Must have an understanding of commanding at the equivalent position they are assigned to portray in the exercise and have an in-depth understanding of the operational staff planning processes. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have military staff planning experience and an understating of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).

  • Must have a basic understanding of military staff officers' functions within a European military force.

  • Must have cultural understanding of the Baltic and Balkan regions of Europe.

Unit Chief of Staff/XO Role Player:

  • Must have an understanding of serving as the Chief of Staff or Executive Officer of a US Army Battalion or above and have an in-depth understanding of staff planning processes at the echelon they are portraying. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have an understanding of the G/S-2's role in MDMP.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a Chief of Staff or XO.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit G/S-2 (Intelligence):

  • Must have an understanding of serving as the G/S-2 of a US Army Battalion or above and have an in-depth understanding of intelligence staff planning processes (i.e. Information Preparation of the Battlefield) at the echelon they are portraying. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have an understanding of the G/S-2's role in MDMP.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as an intelligence officer or specialist.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit G/S-3 (Operations):

  • Must have an understanding of the G/S-3 of a US Army Battalion or above at the echelon they are portraying and have an in-depth understanding of the operational staff planning processes. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have an understanding of a G/S-3's role in MDMP.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as an operations officer.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit G/S-4 (Logistics / Sustainment / Maintenance):

  • Must have an understanding of the S/G-4 of a US Army Battalion or above and have an in-depth understanding of the operational staff planning processes. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have an understanding of the G/S-4's role in MDMP.

  • Must have US Army staff planning experience as a logistician.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit G/S-6 (Communications / Signal):

  • Must have an understanding of the S/G-6 of a US Army Battalion or above and have an in-depth understanding of the operational staff planning processes. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have and understanding of the G/S-6's role in MDMP.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a communicator.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit Fire Support Officer (FSO):

  • Must be well versed in the roles and responsibilities of an Army Fire Support Officer. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must be able to integrate direct fires and indirect fires targeting into the operations planning process, as well as understand US military rotary and fixed wing fires assets.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a fire support officer.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit Engineers (ENG):

  • Must be well versed in the roles and responsibilities of an Army Combat Engineer. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must be able to integrate engineer assets into MDMP as well as capable of creating a Modified Combined Obstacle Overlay (MCOO) IAW ATP 2-01.3 during the operations planning process.

  • Capable of providing staff inputs during a Brigade-level Wet Gap Crossing or Forward Passage of Lines.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as an Engineer Officer.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit Targeting Officers:

  • Must be well versed in the roles and responsibilities a Targeting Officer or Warrant Officer (ex. MOS 131A). Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must be able to integrate lethal and non-lethal targeting into the operations planning process, including providing simulated collateral damage estimates (CDEs).

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a targeting officer or warrant officer.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit Support Operations Officers (SPO):

  • Must be well versed in the roles and responsibilities of a US Army SPO. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must be able to integrate logistics and provide planning resources in support of Large-Scale Ground Combat (LSCO) planning and operations including BDE/BN Concept of Support.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a SPO officer or warrant officer.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Unit Medical Planner:

  • Must have an understanding of a US Army Medical Planner at Battalion or above and have an in-depth understanding of medical planning processes at the echelon they are portraying. Direct experience at the respective level is preferred.

  • Must have and understanding of the Medical Planner's role in MDMP and NDPP.

  • Must have US Army planning experience as a medical planner.

  • Must be well versed in MDMP.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the IC is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The IC frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The IC is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The IC must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
