FORT HOOD

Job Summary

This role supervises and develops crew capabilities to meet customer needs associated with completion of economical reliability and planning distribution projects as well as the maintenance, repair, and restoration of overhead and underground distribution facilities, project and resource management, customer involvement and monitoring of work at military bases either within or beyond DVP's service territory.

• Supervises crews during outages to ensure timely restoration of service.

• Schedules and prioritizes non-emergency and preventive maintenance work.

• Assigns and monitors the work of maintenance crews, Servicemen, and/or contractors.

• Pre/post-inspects jobs, resolves design problems and material discrepancies, reviews contractor expenses to ensure accurate time and equipment charges, and assists in preparation of project as-built documents.

• Ensures employees are performing work under Safety and Work Methods guidelines, directs and supports weekly Safety meetings with crew, and may lead or assist on accident investigations.

• Resolves customer complaints and arranges for circuit or equipment outages.

• Advises and assists with technical training.

• Provides coaching, feedback and career development for direct reports.

• Supervises emergency restoration of service activities, including night management of packaging work.

• Coordinates resources (labor, vehicles and equipment) to ensure employee productivity, maintaining focus on departmental and Company financial budgets.

• Works closely with local Projects and Compliance Coordinator to ensure that all employees under direct supervision are current with all training and legal certifications.

• This role will be required to operate and maintain DVP-owned utility assets that are not found on the Dominion regulated utility system.

• Activities may include maintenance and construction of street and site lighting circuits, poles and fixtures, airfield lighting circuits, transformers and fixtures, substation breakers, distribution switches, connectors, terminations, pole foundations, conductors and lighting contactors.

• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

In addition, this position will:

• Provide Operational oversight of microgrid interconnection and maintenance "Microgrid Switching"

• Operational review and deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

• Transportation Energization / Vehicle to Grid (V2G) Operations and Maintenance (Electric Locomotive / Light Duty Vehicle V2G)

• New Technology Development & Deployment for Operational Enhancements

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Minimum of 8 years directly related experience.

• Full knowledge of electrical distribution system, distribution line construction, maintenance and repair, distribution, transmission and substation switching, construction work methods, operations guidelines, energized lines and conductors.

• Capable of delivering a high level of customer focus, excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to build and develop rapport and to interact effectively with government agencies and officials.

• Other skills: Leadership, IBEW contract interpretation, excellent problem solving, interpersonal, strong verbal and written communication, project and time management, organization, essential computer skills (to include DVP computer system familiarity with TRS, CBMS, GIS viewer)

• Abilities: Teaming, motivating employees, decision-making, handling constantly changing and emerging priorities, scheduling and prioritizing work

• Physical attributes required to perform essential functions of the job: walking, climbing, stooping, bending and prolonged standing

Education Requirements

• Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate, Bachelor Disciplines: Preferred: Engineering Technology
