Defense Logistics Agency Facility Operations Specialist in Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities Planning, programming, budgeting, and accounting for facilities maintenance and repair. This includes leading preparation, execution and administration of facilities services and technical representative for facilities projects. Serves as the technical advisor on all facilities and equipment matters, developing and disseminating guidance to organizations for building operations. Ensures that Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and Enterprise Business System (EBS) are tracking. Develops statements of work, independent government estimates, specifications, and maintains facility support service contracts and observes and inspects work in progress on facility support. Monitors and coordinates the implementation of uniform buildings management guidelines to conform with Department of Defense (DOD), local, state, and national requirements. Develops and recommends new or revised policies, procedures, guidelines, and objectives as required. Advises the staff to the adequacy and physical condition of facilities and equipment and recommends actions considered necessary to provide organizations with the facilities and equipment needed to support operations. Supports the Support Operations Support Division Chief in budgetary planning, projecting, monitoring, and checking of contracted. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Facility Operations Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Management of various facility related programs, to include: operational safety, fire safety, response to emergencies, physical security, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste. Oversee facility management of resources related to service contracts, financial programs, and space utilization. Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
