WestRock Company Paper Machine Superintendent in Florence, South Carolina
The opportunity:
The Paper Machine Superintendent is responsible for managing safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement in a goal-oriented environment. The position is responsible for one paper machine for all shifts and reports to the Paper Mill Superintendent.

Effectively manage production performance
Effectively partner with other departments of the mill and create an environment of teamwork
Providing leadership to machine personnel to ensure overall safe operations
Identifying developmental needs and facilitating training of machine personnel
Planning and controlling production performance
Troubleshooting quality and operational issues and developing systems and structures to avoid reoccurrences
Planning and executing maintenance outages on time and on budget
Monitoring compliance with standard operating procedures
Ensuring quality systems are supported, in place, and comply with required customer specifications
Coordinating efforts with Maintenance, Operations, and Technical Resource Departments as required
Identifying long term departmental improvement opportunities
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of related experience in a Linerboard Mill
Supervisory or management experience required
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
Excellent problem solving skills (preference for demonstrated Kepner-Tregoe facilitation abilities)
Excellent planning, organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Proficient computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, JD Edwards, Panther, etc.)
