Job Summary
The CIT Research Laboratory Technician will provide technical lab support by performing complex laboratory and research related tasks. As a specialist on laboratory methods and equipment functions, this position will perform a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency, troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions, as well as evaluate experiment results using statistical and multivariate analysis. Assisting the Math and Natural Sciences division in CIT this role will report to the Associate Director of Laboratory Science Operations and Development.

Responsibilities*
Preventative maintenance and repair for equipment and instrumentation in the Math and Natural Sciences Division
Purchasing/Quotes
Management of service contracts
Inventory management and disposition for equipment and instrumentation in the Math and Natural Sciences Division
Focused research support
Installation support for new equipment/instrument purchases
Liaison with facilities for specialty instrument needs
As time allows, provide sample and data analysis support
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
2 or more years of lab support experience
Familiarity with at least one area of biological and chemical instrumentation which could include spectrophotometers (UV-vis, IR, fluorescence), chromatography instruments (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS), atomic spectroscopy instruments (ICP-OES), centrifuges, qPCR and PCR instruments, NMR, flow cytometer, microscopes, etc
Work Schedule
This position requires a fully in-person work schedule at this time and is subject to change based upon the duties of the position and the needs of the department.
