Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Flint, Michigan
Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Flint, Michigan. This role is in the healthcare industry and will require the specialist to manage key aspects of medical billing, including coding, data verification, and compliance with organizational protocols.
Responsibilities:
• Assigning codes (CPT-4 and HCPCS) to outpatient medical records based on the documentation provided.
• Verifying and modifying patient data to ensure data integrity and adherence to specific organizational protocols.
• Keeping up-to-date with the revision cycle of coding and classification systems (ICD-10-CM and MSDRG) to understand changes impacting coding, compliance, and reimbursement requirements.
• Utilizing available electronic and hard copy resources to assist in accurate assignment of coding and classification codes.
• Collaborating with providers to identify appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for patients’ care plans, treatment orders, and co-morbid conditions and educating them on appropriate documentation to support all codes captured in the electronic health record.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrating proficiency in using computerized patient management systems and accurately entering data.
• Possessing knowledge of medical billing and follow-up for third party payors.
• Cooperating with detail oriented staff in a cooperative and efficient manner. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role as a Medical Billing Specialist.
• Proficiency in using Allscripts software for medical billing and coding.
• Strong knowledge and experience in using EHR SYSTEM for electronic health records.
• Familiarity with Epaces for electronic processing and submission of medical claims.
• Ability to handle Accounts Receivable (AR) efficiently.
• Experience in handling Appeals process in medical billing.
• Understanding of Benefit Functions in healthcare settings.
• Competency in Billing Functions related to medical services.
• Solid background in Claim Administration, ensuring all medical claims are processed accurately.
• Proven experience in Medical Billing, ensuring all services are billed correctly.
• Proficient in Medical Coding, translating medical services into appropriate codes for billing.
