Job Summary:
Responsible for oversight and optimization of pharmacy automation systems. Responsible for training employees on the pharmacy systems when implemented and/or upgraded.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the oversight of the pharmacy automation systems, as well as all systems that interface with the pharmacy systems. Oversight includes, but is not limited to: training staff on proper trouble shooting and reporting of issues for each technology system; assisting the IT Service Center to resolve the problems; providing feedback on the budget for replacement equipment.
Participates in software upgrades, enhancements and bug fixes. Tests and implements new systems as directed, as well as developing training documents for staff outlining new processes.
Provides on-site software and workflow support to end-users during implementation. Works one-on-one with staff to provide guidance as needed post-implementation to assist in meeting proficiency requirements. Provides on-site software and workflow optimization support post-implementation.
Maintains pharmacy automation operating systems, packaging, automated dispensing cabinets, carousels/robotics, etc.
Works with pharmacy management to evaluate opportunities to improve pharmacy technology, new automation, upgrades, etc.
Responsible for building access rights for new employees, residents and students, and termination of the same upon separation.
Serves as a resource for workflow and technical questions for pharmacy staff with regards to all systems involved in the automated dispensing process.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
Rare climbing.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
