Overview

COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST (MEDCOM):

Bowhead is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support the Office of the Surgeon General/US Army Medical Command Disability Evaluation System (OTSG/ MEDCOM DES) contract in Falls Church, VA. The Compliance Specialist will participate (i.e. provide information, take minutes) in periodic reviews at the OTSG/MEDCOM, and HQDA level. Results of these meeting must be provided to the Government representative the following day via email.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and capture due outs in monthly or quarterly reviews at the OTSG/MEDCOM, DHA, Assistant Secretary of the Army's Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA M&RA), and HQDA level.

  • Share information (i.e. reports, briefing presentations, The Surgeon General (TSG) Smart Sheets), processes, improvement initiatives, and other work products across all stakeholders within the Directorate as approved.

  • Attend and participate in meetings as required by the Government.

  • Participate in work groups (WGs) to assess issues and provide recommendations to the Government representatives from the DES SL for resolution. Analysis will be required at all levels, from assessment of issues involving a single soldier to analyze metrics published in Strategic Management System (SMS), IDES Guidebook , PAD regulations and various DoD manuals/Instructions and compliance on an enterprise level. These WGs will meet on a weekly to monthly basis. The CSP shall take notes, analyze, and provide recommendations.

  • Correlate analyses of trends and current systems (VTA, SMS, Medical Electronic Data for Care History and Readiness Tracking (MEDCHART)) with the objectives and measures provided by Command or Army policy and as established by DOD for DES Support Services policy and programs.

  • Provide timely responses to approximately six Government queries per month for required

  • Draft weekly Executive Summaries (EXSUMs) and/or Tear Lines (TL) on drastic data trend changes that will impact any metrics.

  • Coordinate and update the yearly Historical Report (i.e. organization chart, current and changed initiatives for DES SL) based on a fiscal year period for the Government.

  • Support the drafting, refining and tracking of OTSG/MEDCOM policies before they expire and when requested. Follow Army guidelines and provided templates when drafting these policies.

  • Apply technical expertise in supporting the DES SL in the drafting and refining of other documents regarding, manpower, logistical support, systems, communications, strategic communications, and informatics in support of DES program sustainment.

  • Support the drafting of Army Operations Orders, Fragmentary Orders, Warning Orders, and Taskers based on information received from other SMEs.

  • Research regulations, policies, public laws, and other reference material in support of the Government. Maintain central libraries of approved products (i.e. templates, forms) in DES SL SharePoint (current and historical) by uploading to DES SL SharePoint.

  • Maintain situational awareness of new or revised regulations, policies, guidance, and initiatives related to this requirement.

  • Analyze research results and ensure that all documentation developed and initiatives comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidance.

  • The Briefing Coordinator will support the RFO, SPC, Technical Offices, Pods, and enabling functions in preparing and finalizing briefings, reports, and other communication documents. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Five (5+) years of relevant experience is required. Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for a highly qualified candidate.

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI) results. US Citizenship is a requirement for admission to this location.
