Defense Health Agency Audit Liaison in Falls Church, Virginia
Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)), in Falls Church, Virginia. Note: Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Responsible for oversight and management of the Internal and External Oversight/Audit Liaison (EO/AL) function for the Defense Health Agency. The incumbent serves as the principal advisor to the DHA Inspector General, DHA Senior Leadership Team, and the DHA Director on internal and external audit matters. Maintains an overview of all programs within the Defense Health Agency to detect and eliminate fraud, waste, inefficiency, and related improprieties. Performs a wide range of analytical and administrative duties related to the auditing and evaluation of both internal and external audit reports. Resolves or elevates disagreements over access to information and communicates management’s position to designated officials, as necessary. Directs the design, development, maintenance, and operation of a highly complex internal and external oversight and audit liaison operation throughout the Defense Health Agency. Incumbent has supervisory responsibility over the staff, program, and resources of external oversight/the audit liaison function within the Office of the Inspector General. Makes decisions on work problems related issues, planning work assignments, establishing priorities, directing work activities, and ensuring the timely completion of a satisfactory amount and quality of work. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Providing audit liaison counsel to senior leaders; maintaining the coordination of external oversight activities; and establishing subordinate assignments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
