Job Description:

Our work depends on a Senior DevSecOps engineer joining our team to support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America's Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent. GDIT will develop and deliver a digital engineering design solution that enables and integrates the program’s complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the program’s lifecycle. This Senior DevSecOps engineer position will directly contribute to building and supporting the containerized infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, software factory components, and core cloud infrastructure of the Digital Engineering Environment.

This position is remote with up to 40-50% travel to the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area.

How a DevSecOps Engineer, Mid will make an impact:

  • Building and maintaining containerized infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters and Amazon EC2-based infrastructure

  • Deploying and configuring DoD Platform One software suite, building Software Factory implementations for developers and end users

  • Supporting the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevSecOps tool chain

  • Architecting and maintaining software / infrastructure build, test, and deployment CI/CD pipelines

  • Working daily with Development teams to integrate dependencies and backend components via automated pipelines

  • Troubleshooting application deployments to Kubernetes clusters

  • Assisting teams with DevSecOps issues related to performance and configuration

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to how we securely build, deploy, and monitor software projects

  • Provide insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects

What you’ll need to succeed:

Required:

  • US citizen possessing active Secret clearance with ability to upgrade/maintain a Top Secret clearance

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification : Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security

  • Experience with Linux based environments and bash scripting

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Helm – building, deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting K8s clusters

  • Experience with Gitlab and automating Gitlab CI/CD pipelines end-to-end, from code commits to production

  • Experience with Software Engineering and Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps related practices

  • Experience with Git version control

  • Experience with Docker, containerization build technologies, and container registries

  • Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture, implementing PKI base practices, load balancers, and directory services

  • Must be detail oriented, critical thinker, possess excellent problem-solving skills

  • Desire for continuous improvement and a commitment to best practices

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or additional years of experience in information technology.

Desired:

  • Active Top Secret clearance, prior SAP experience

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or additional years of experience in information technology

  • Familiarity with software development and the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Expertise applying true DevSecOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation

  • Prior experience in non-permissive or air-gapped environments

  • Kubernetes Certification (Certified Kubernetes Administrator – CKA)

  • AWS Certification (Certified DevOps Engineer – AWS-DOP, Certified Solutions Architect - Professional)

Travel:

Up to 40-50% to the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
