Developer Lead Front-End Development

Summary:

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a technical, self-motivated Software Developer to join our team to support an essential modernization program for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid. As a member of our Agile development team, you will support several complex and high-volume customer systems. The ideal candidate would have experience developing in Java and building web-based application front-end solutions in Angular.

Responsibilities:

• Work as a member of a scrum team to develop, integrate, and deploy high quality reusable, testable, and efficient code including web-based front-end components and microservices with Java, Angular, Spring Boot, and REST API’s

• Developing front-end interfaces to call microservices that include RESTful services incorporating both Angular and Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch)

• Writing Unit Test frameworks (JUnit, Mocking frameworks), code coverage, and code review and integrating work with GitLab

• Working within a SAFe environment that includes consistent leadership support, continued learning education, refining user stories, providing internal and customer demonstrations of developed code

• Contributing within a SAFe environment including the Daily scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog grooming, Sprint/System Demos, PI Planning, and Inspect & Adapt events

Required Skills/Experience:

• 7+ of related experience in software development with primary focus on front end

• 5+ years of recent experience in front end frameworks like Angular, React, Vue, or Svelte.

• 3+ years of recent experience working in Angular 14 or above.

• 5+ years of modern CSS and Sass experience, especially when writing in both component and global style methodology.

• Experience with A11y and 508 Highly desired

• Experience working in enterprise level applications with focus on cloud technologies - AWS Preferred

• Experience with Java and developing/maintaining front-end components using Angular to call microservices

• Experience working in an agile environment with collaborative processes in workflow, branching, code reviewing, and testing.

• Knowledge of REST API, JSON

• Experience testing front-end components using Selenium and similar tools

• Experience using API test cases in SOAP UI, PostMan, or ReadyAPI.

• Experience with common web development frameworks (Angular, Docker, React, Spring, Node.js, jQuery, Microservice Design, etc.)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

• U.S. Citizen with existing or the ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with GitLab DevOps/CI/CD platform

• Experience with an IDE such as eclipse.

The likely salary range for this position is $152,737 - $206,645. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
