Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring Mid-Level, Senior or Lead Systems Engineers – Certification – Qualification (Levels 3, 4 or 5) . These positions offer the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines are located in Everett, Washington.

These positions support executing certification activities on the 777X-9/777-8F. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to utilize their systems and critical thinking skills, technical abilities and business acumen to support the certification of 777X aircraft.

Position responsibilities

  • Coordinating the development of issue papers

  • Assessing certification plans Developing certification approaches/strategies with the Federal Aviation Authorities (FAA), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and technical focals across the enterprise

  • Assisting in the development of technical briefs for domestic and foreign regulators Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions

  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success

  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working 14 CFR Part 25 and EASA CS-25 aspects

  • Experience with regulatory agencies' procedures and process

  • Knowledge of integration, verification and certification processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs)

  • Knowledge of regulatory processes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working cross functionally

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Project management skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Mid-Level 3: $104,550.00 - $141,450.00

Summary pay range for Senior Level 4: $128,350.00 - $173,650.00

Summary pay range for Lead Level 5: $157,250.00 - $212,750.00
