Supply Chain Manager

BLR Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manager. The ideal candidate would have 3+ years of Purchasing/Procurement/Sourcing experience, preferably in an aerospace or technical industry. Demonstrated skills in managing both internal and external customers, tracking commitments and personal follow-through is essential. Strong negotiation, organization, and communication skills and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner are fundamental requirements.

Job Summary

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating a successful supply chain for procurement of materials, components, supplies and services that achieve quality, pricing, and on-time service level essential to the successful operation of the business. Building positive working relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, mitigate and resolve risks and issues, optimize inventory levels, and expedite deliveries to resolve shortages. Focus on continuous business improvement strategies is essential, with special focus on major projects and New Product Introductions (NPIs).

  • Identify, qualify, and select suppliers of materials, equipment, products, or services, and conduct overall supplier management

  • Develop mutually beneficial supplier working relationships

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead-time, delivery dates, and oversee supplier performance

  • Create Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Orders and/or Master Agreements with suppliers, and engage in all aspects of contract management

  • Ensure suppliers’ performance is consistent with corporate objectives, particularly in quality, on-time delivery, cost management, and inventory turns

  • Monitor scheduled deliveries, and manage part shortages and expedites

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs

  • Work in partnership with Production Control Manager to ensure appropriate inventory levels

  • Effectively deliver messages and business presentations, reports, and forecasts to Leadership team, customers, vendors, and employees, highlighting key performance indicators, risks and recommendations for improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering & Manufacturing teams to understand product requirements and identify new supply partners to support both new product development and ongoing production

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on vendor audits, Supplier Scorecards, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement programs in supply chain quality, delivery and cost

  • Manage RMA (Return Material Authorization) and RTV (Return to Vendor) process

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to and improving policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality

  • Support monthly financial closing by completing all transactions and credit card purchases reconciliation

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Open Purchase Order Report

  • Travel to vendors and events as required

  • All other related duties as assigned

    Required Experience and Education

  • Degree in Business preferred

  • 3+ years of Purchasing, Procurement, and/or Sourcing experience

  • Previous aerospace, medical or automotive experience is a plus

  • Experience with Oracle Customer Resource Management tools and ERP systems is desirable

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • MS Office Suite proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
