Aston Carter Cost Accounting Analyst in Everett, Washington
Job Title: Cost Accounting AnalystJob Description
Analyze production costs, manufacturing expenses, and overheads to determine product costs and profitability. Conduct regular cost reviews to identify variances and recommend cost-saving measures. Collaborate with production and procurement teams to optimize costs related to materials, labor, and overheads. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, variance analysis, and cost projections. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide financial data and analysis to support management decisions. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to production costs and expenses. Monitor budgetary performance and provide explanations for variances between actuals and budgets. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Maintain detailed documentation of cost-related activities for audits and reviews. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cost accounting processes. Provide support for AR and AP as needed. Maintain periodic cost rolls/updates. Lead and manage periodic excess and obsolete inventory review processes. Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Hard Skills
Standard Cost and Accounting experience in a Manufacturing setting
Strong Excel skills, advanced financial modeling, and analytical techniques
Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts
Soft Skills
Extensive analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions

This is a fully on-site position in Everett, Washington.
Work Environment
The role requires close collaboration with production and procurement teams and involves regular interaction with various departments to ensure cost efficiency and regulatory compliance. The position also entails leading and managing inventory review processes and ensuring the accuracy of financial reports.
