Robert Half Tax Preparer in Essex, Vermont
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Tax Preparer in Essex, Vermont, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with managing and executing various accounting functions, data entry, and tax preparation duties. Your main role will be to inform clients about the tax preparation process, collect relevant financial records, and ensure that all tax documents are completed and filed accurately and timely.
Responsibilities
• Educate clients on the tax preparation process and work closely with them to gather necessary financial records
• Input client financial data into tax return software or databases
• Utilize federal, state, and local tax laws to calculate deductions and determine client tax returns
• File tax documents with appropriate agencies such as the IRS, state, and local government entities
• Act as a representative for clients with these agencies when required
• Build and maintain customer relationships to promote business expansion
• Perform accounting functions as necessary to support the tax preparation process
• Use QuickBooks for various accounting and tax preparation tasks. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a tax preparer role or similar.
• Proficient in various accounting functions.
• Demonstrated ability in data entry tasks with high accuracy.
• Must have working knowledge and experience with QuickBooks.
• Proven skills in tax preparation and an understanding of current tax laws.
