The Purchasing Agent executes the planning and management of all activities involved in procurement, conversion, and logistics. General areas of responsibility include coordination and collaboration with suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers; integration of supply and demand management for Signature Hardware. Positions in purchasing are responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organization's operations.
This is a Hybrid role based out of Erlanger, KY or Newport News, VA location, in accordance with the Company Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
Work effectively with both domestic and foreign suppliers
Place purchase orders with domestic and foreign suppliers, expediting, and providing customer service functions as needed
Review Order Confirmations for accuracy
Create, review and amend Letters of Credit
Work with overseas vendors to estimate container stuffing for maximum cost effectiveness
Negotiate ship dates with suppliers to ensure goods arrive in a timely manner.
Reconciliation of payable discrepancies
Liaise with Product Development Team to anticipate their demand for goods and materials
Review inventory requests, production schedules, and other information to coordinate purchasing activities with the organization’s current and anticipated demand for goods and materials
Monitor the timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follow-up on the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate status to internal customers
Resolve vendor related issues regarding delivery, timing, quantity and specifications
Qualifications:
7 + years of experience with purchasing and data entry
Ability to work with vendors via email whose primary language is not English
Exceptional math skills, detail oriented and high level of organization
Strong ability to use Excel, Outlook Email, and Reporting Software
Experience working effectively with a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
Self-starter that has initiative to learn new things
Capacity to act as a problem solver
Time management, organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Must be able to work independently maintaining a fast pace
Excellent people skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and suppliers

$3,600.00 - $7,791.30

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
