Aerotek Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic in Erlanger, Kentucky
Airframe Sheet Metal Mechanic
Location: CVG Airport (15 minutes south of Downtown Cincinnati)
Compensation: $30 - $43/hour with per diem and 30 days of hotel paid for relocation
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to support new C-check lines, specifically working on UPS Airbus aircraft. The role involves reading, interpreting, planning, and working from Structural Repair Manuals, engineering drawings, and Service Bulletins. You will be responsible for conducting structural repairs, overseeing and training others, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals, engineering drawings, and Service Bulletins.
Assist, guide, train, and evaluate other mechanics on aircraft sheet metal work.
Meet completion timelines and manage aircraft scheduled/assigned job budgets.
Complete skin repairs requiring doublers or triplers containing complex contours.
Perform complex repairs and replacements, including wing spar, keel beam, or other support structures.
Document all work performed according to manuals and regulations.
Adhere to FEAM General Work Requirements, safety policies, and participate in 5-S activities.
Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
Assist with hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures.
Operate ground support equipment and assist with mechanical/electrical removals and installations.
Work on off-site locations as needed and assist in maintenance as required.
Assist in designing, modifying, and welding metal fixtures as needed.
Provide time estimates for tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
2+ years of sheet metal experience in the aviation industry.
Riveting experience and familiarity with aircraft sheet metal work.
Military experience working on sheet metal airframes is acceptable.
OEM experience from companies like Boeing or Airbus is preferred.
Experience in commercial aviation and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) is a plus.

Work Environment:
New hangar located at CVG (Cincinnati/NKY International Airport).
First shift, with potential overtime as required.
