General Event Rental Manager

General Overview

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual that has knowledge or willing to learn about the rental industry. Physical labor is part of the job, but the benefits that go along with working for this family company is worth it. We are looking for an operations manager who is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the expanding and multi-location event company, MHR Equipment and Event Rental and MHR Presque Isle Tent and Table. Construction experience is relevant as we do some work in structure and long-term set ups. We are looking for someone who thrives being in a team environment and who is ready to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement projects
  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define tasks and required resources
  • Manage budget
  • Allocate project resources
  • Manage day to day maintenance on rental equipment
  • Work hand in hand with operations manager and all team members 
  • Help create schedule and project timeline
  • Track deliverables
  • Support and direct team
  • Lead quality assurance
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess result of project
  • Help with hiring for multiple positions
  • Help plan and execute logistics : i.e. delivery schedule, labor schedule, loading, etc.
  • Some computer work is necessary
  • Human Resource Responsibilities (will have guidance)

Education & Experience

  • Experience in rental equipment or event rental is a bonus
  • Experience working construction is a bonus or any job-related field
  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools of the rental industry or structure
  • Experience as a project manager or operations manager is not required, but highly encouraged
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
