Your role
You will be responsible for the central management of technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment in the field of safety of machinery and installations, and will be in charge of company-wide governance and guidance. In this role, you will support the operating units of Siemens and the regional companies on the subjects of technical safety of machinery and installations, risk assessment and functional safety.
Another part of your responsibilities includes the quality and reliability of electrical energy supply ("security of energy supply"), in particular the system aspects and challenges posed by the conversion of the grids to renewable energies.
In addition, you will be responsible for the safety-related aspects of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence as well as the corresponding requirements in technical regulation and conformity assessment.
You will represent the interests of the company in the relevant bodies and committees of technical regulation (especially in industry associations and public authority structures), standardization and conformity assessment. For this, you will lead the Siemens-wide network of experts, coordinate the alignment of positions within the company and take on mandates in national and international standards organizations.
You will advise the company units on fundamental aspects of product and plant safety and provide support on compliance requirements and processes.
You will also be responsible for providing tools and guidelines for the practical fulfilment of requirements, including the maintenance of our company-wide knowledge platform.
Your Profile
You have successfully completed your technical studies in mechanical and/or electrical engineering and ideally have an additional qualification in IT/digitalization.
You have professional experience in technical regulation and standardization in the field of technical safety, with a focus on safety of machinery and installations. For this, you can refer to active participation in national and international standardisation, as a technical expert or in a steering function.
Ideally, you have knowledge of the Siemens business and are familiar with Siemens' hardware and software portfolio.
You have moderated and professionally managed cross-functional, international teams. In doing so, you have been able to rely on your strong social skills and intercultural experience.
You have the willingness to travel necessary for international committee work and speak German and English fluently.
