Summary:

  • Manufacturing Engineers have the task of making manufacturing processes better, faster, and cheaper. As the Manufacturing Technology Engineer II, you will be responsible for verifying systems that support the advancement of technology and the spread of innovation. You will review the allocation of resources, analyzes productivity, and seeks ways to maximize production while minimizing cost. In addition, you will partner closely with the Technical Services Department to accomplish objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead the “Factory of the Future” initiative by improving electronic data visualization for plant personnel. Design/manage custom HMI interfaces by displaying relevant information by connecting various data systems.

  • Analyze Manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems for failures and provide solutions to eliminate production downtime or extend the time between downtime and equipment failures.

  • Lead, sustain, and improve new technological projects that make the facility a factory of the future.

  • Plant liaison for Manufacturing improvement projects between corporate groups and plant personnel.

  • Work closely with frontline team members to improve manufacturing processes that adversely affect equipment or product quality.

  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as 5S, and LEAN principles to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.

  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.

  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.

  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods.

  • Participate in plant safety teams and continuous improvement projects.

  • Standardize Manufacturing JSA’s, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to maximize the production department’s productivity while minimizing wasted time and controlling cost.

  • Remove process bottlenecks while utilizing continuous improvement techniques to drive changes required to remove obstructions and limit downtime.

  • Assist with the design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.

  • Work closely with Process Engineers and/or plant personnel to establish and enhance design standards that minimize life cycle costs and support high reliability.

  • Work with production and maintenance personnel to implement and sustain IOT systems in the plant.

  • Develop and deploy systems to increase quality testing and compliance using data and data visualization.

  • Deploy and maintain mobile devices on the plant floor including tablets to maximize data availability and inputs.

  • Work with data visualization systems to display key plant KPIs such as Safety Metrics, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc. on the plant floor.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to use a CMMS (Maximo preferred) and Google Office or Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to use JavaScript/AppsScript with Google Suite for scripts and executable functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize, and execute plans to deliver results on multiple projects and tasks to achieve critical operating objectives
