Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) is looking for an Artificial Intelligence Risk and Compliance Specialist located in Englewood CO. You will guide and develop compliance and risk management strategies for AI technologies. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so our AI technologies and AI-enhanced data systems must be developed and implemented according to the highest ethical and technical standards, meeting requirements of the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, as well as other applicable frameworks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of the DAS AI risk and compliance framework, ensuring AI systems and processes align with ISO/IEC 42001 standards, EASA’s AI roadmap, applicable FAA regulations, and other standards pertaining to AI.

  • Keep abreast of new developments, standards and regulations at regional and international level related to the regulatory and risk aspects of AI, and report on these developments.

  • Lead AI risk assessment initiatives, identifying potential operational, legal, strategic and ethical risks associated with AI deployments, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies addressing these risks.

  • Manage documentation and reporting processes related to AI compliance and risk assessments, ensuring transparency and traceability of AI systems’ compliance status to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Design and oversee training programs for DAS staff on AI compliance, ethical AI use, and risk management, fostering a culture of risk-aware and compliant AI system development and operation.

  • Advise on the design and modification of AI systems from a safety, compliance and ethics perspective, ensuring that all systems are developed with consideration of their potential impacts in these areas.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Englewood CO office location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in a compliance or risk management role with a strong focus on technology applications, preferably in the aviation, energy, or automotive sectors. A proven track record of conducting risk assessments and implementing effective risk management strategies would be highly desirable.

  • Enthusiasm for, and a critical view of, AI technologies.

  • A good understanding of current developments in AI, both from a technology and business perspective; the ability to discuss and explain these developments to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to foresee potential challenges from a compliance perspective.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and educating teams and management on compliance and risk-related matters.

  • Experience in creating and maintaining documentation for compliance and risk management processes.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Law, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Compliance, Risk Management, or a closely related field.

  • Experience with implementing and/or maintaining ISO management frameworks would be highly desirable, but is not a requirement.

  • Experience in AI-related risk management would highly desirable, but is not a requirement.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through academic qualification (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of academic qualification and work experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.) Preferred but not required.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $124,100.00-$167,900.00.
