Join us as the General Manager for Ethicon in Great Britain .

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize Ethicon Franchise growth and profitability by delivering innovative solutions that deliver results and market competitiveness.

  • Formulate and communicate overall business objectives, policies, and strategic plans for the Ethicon Franchise in alignment with regional and global strategy.

  • Ensure effective implementation and execution of policies and plans to direct the growth of the Company and to achieve both long-term and short-range objectives.

  • Lead direct reports in the strategic development, integration, and implementation of the Commercial & Marketing Plans for each Business Unit. Meet or exceed established sales and income goals through the execution of the agreed annual strategies & priorities.

  • Deliver the sales strategy ensuring that the delivery of plans brings capital efficient profitable growth in the marketplace.

  • Lead our Culture, ensure we have a completely inclusive environment, we promote diverse talent and its culture where everyone feels they belong.

  • Set out the vision and how they will be deployed within clear strategies and focusing the organization to deliver results. Shape organizational capability through new services and solutions for critical stakeholders and allocate appropriate resources to achieve growth goals.

  • Full P&L responsibility for the business. Analyse results against forecasts and establish policies to deliver the income goals. Monitor progress and verify corrective action has been initiated when necessary.

  • Work closely with the Business Units in the development of sales and marketing strategies for new products, promotional plans, and budgets. Define short/medium /long term plans defining priorities and strategies for the portfolio.

  • Provide leadership in Commercial negotiations in cooperation with his/her direct reports and develop appropriate Strategic Account plans ensuring that these are acted upon by the organization.

  • Formulate and communicate overall sales objectives, policies, incentives plan and create short- and long-term data based strategic sales plans for the Franchise. Ensure effective implementation and execution of sales commitments to direct business growth and account conversion to achieve both short-term and long-range sales and account conversion objectives.

  • Develop strong relationships with key customers and opinion leaders.

  • Build and develop the Leadership Team and leadership pipeline in Ethicon Franchise, establishing a plan for continuous employees’ development.

  • Conduct business activities in compliance with ethics and legal requirements.

  • People Results: Acquiring, developing, engaging, rewarding, promoting, and retaining high performing, diverse leaders, at all levels.

Business Challenges:

Experienced sales and marketing leader with demonstrated skill in delivering on all aspects of a P&L (sales, operating expense, net income). Strong business and financial acumen and strategic mindset. Track record of leading large organizations to transform, while achieving results (top line and bottom line) in challenging and complex business environments.

Knowledge of the Ethicon portfolio, GB market, competitors, patients, and customers is a strong advantage.

  • Demonstrated skill in delivering on all aspects of a P&L to deliver profitable growth (sales, operating expenses, net income). Business and financial acumen, as well as a strategic mindset as evidenced by a track record of leading organizations to achieve results in challenging, complex business environments.

  • Track record of driving necessary strategic change to meet changing business needs, inclusive of mobilizing teams and driving high performance culture.

  • Influencing the external environment based on knowledge of social, political, regulatory, and economic issues affecting businesses domestically and globally.

  • Strategic understanding of the product development and commercialization processes including the integrated functional and global/regional requirements

  • Strategic understanding of the research and science required for developing innovative ideas, products, and services to advance health care globally.

  • Strategic understanding of how to forecast capability requirements, build future capabilities, optimize talent, and drive development.

  • Strong customer/external orientation with experience working directly with governmental and other external agencies to influence healthcare policy and develop value-generating solutions.

  • Experience leading multiple business challenges: new businesses, turnaround business, realignment, sustain the success models.

  • Experience with different go-to-market models (direct, undirect)

  • Identifying new partnerships opportunities, determining optimal relationships conditions/model (licensing, co-promotion, acquisition), and executing these relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage in complex long-term situations.
