Job Description
Job Summary
The Lead Custodian will oversee and provide cleaning services for student residences at CMI’s customer site in Emmitsburg, MD.
Key Job Functions
Assist the Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments assuring employee assignments are completed and meet the requirements of the contract
Turn mattresses, change mattress encasements, strip, and make beds
Remove dirty bed and bath linen and provide fresh replacements
Wash windows, windowsills, and blinds
Dust/clean furniture, fixtures, equipment, blinds, drapes, and other surfaces
Provide and replenish restroom supplies and other supplies as needed
Spot clean carpets and walls
Clean showers, restrooms, stall partitions, doors, sinks, toilets, and tubs
Dust, clean, vacuum, and extract common areas, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, conference rooms
Remove trash
Dust, wet mop, strip, and wax hard flooring
Sweep and clean stairwells, elevators, and building entrances
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper in a Dormitory or Hotel environment
Ability to schedule and record work, complete reports, and communicate effectively with Staff and client
Proven ability to lead a team
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
Customer-oriented and friendly
Prioritization and time management skills
Works well unsupervised
Attention to detail and meticulous use of proper safety procedures
Experience in office & dormitory cleaning and ability to lift at least 50lb
Working knowledge of MS office Suite to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe
Must be able to pass a Federal Background investigation
