Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the facility engineering operations and the management of services and processes that support the core business at TMC, TCVS Elkton facilities.

Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations related to facility operations. Coordination of multiple projects and budgets to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and schedule compliance. Supervises staff of exempt and non-exempt associates, providing timely performance evaluations, designed to develop and enhance performance staff.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  1. Associate is responsible to follow TMC Quality system requirements, including but not limited to, providing guidance and training of associates in Quality system regulations, and understanding of all Quality system processes.

  2. Insure effective preventative maintenance and repair programs are in place, resulting in a high level of facilities uptime in support of both office and manufacturing environments to enable uninterrupted operations to support customer service.

  3. Knowledge and implementation experience with predictive maintenance methodology reducing overall maintenance cost where appropriate.

  4. Comply with pertinent building construction and safety codes.

  5. Develop and manage facilities engineering budgets. Develop, gain approval for, and manage capital budgets to include obsolescence, upgrades, new construction, and renovations projects.

  6. Manage, set goals and report on key metrics such at utility costs, work order completion, staff utilization and facility uptime. Report critical Quarterly to management review.

  7. Manage overall Utility costs for TMC, TCVS (water, electricity, gas, solid waste, recycling) mindfully implementing cost savings projects as appropriate to reduce cost.

  8. Ensure the appropriate security/protection plans exist for each location. Maintain relationships with local authorities, police, and fire departments.

  9. Critical team member for Business Continuity/Disaster recovery, active participation in annual reviews for each location is required.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  1. Implement Long-term facilities planning (capital projects involving equipment, facilities, and systems) based on proven facility assets life cycle management techniques.

  2. Responsible for ensuring best business practice are in place to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity for facilities engineering staff. Ensure work order systems are in place that provide timely and effective response to all internal request.

  3. Overseeing all related facility oriented external vendors and contracts of those vendors (Security, Custodial etc.).

  4. Provide assistance in development of master plan for facilities, evaluates needs, prepares funding plan and performs other facilities-related activities in conjunction with Director of Global Facilities.

  5. Openly and effectively communicates with other management, personnel and outside contractors to coordinate activities and programs; resolves issues and conflicts and exchanges information.

  6. Active Participation in project performance team meetings, on behalf of the job unit providing ideas, methods, or processes for unit/company performance improvement.

  7. Assure a customer centric approach for facility management is maintained towards all stakeholders.

  8. Manage Fleet vehicle service program for TMC and TAH companies.

  9. Performs other job-related duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to oversee the facility engineering functions for multiple building on the Elkton campus.

  • Ability to manage summer and winter facility shutdowns returning facility to operation on time and in compliance.

  • Ability to interface with all associates including Management and our Executive Staff.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the basic design and engineering of mechanical systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, building construction, fire protection, AGV and ASRS, etc.).

  • Strong project management experience with demonstrated results.

  • Profound communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Budget and Management experience.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • A bachelors degree in engineering or related field and 10 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing plant, facilities engineering maintenance, or Office Management experience

  • 5 years of experience managing a team; providing mentoring, coaching & feedback

  • Previous management of plant engineering functional group is required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance to include OSHA, EPA, CGMP requirements and ISO standards.
