We are inviting applications for the role of Cost Accountant at our location in ELKHART, Indiana. As a Cost Accountant, you will take on critical responsibilities in maintaining product pricing and costs, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing financial support to various departments. You will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately establish material, freight, labor, and overhead standards and perform variance analysis monthly

• Develop business forecasts by preparing performance records and anticipating sales and costs

• Conduct monthly freight reconciliation between projected freight costs and payments to ensure sufficient freight is accrued

• Maintain compliance with all government tax regulations

• Support the sales department in negotiating pricing or price changes with customers

• Prepare standard journal entries for month-end close and confirm the accuracy of COGS, complete variance analysis for review with department managers and Controller

• Ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts as required by company policy and SOX through timely account reconciliation preparation

• Assist in the collection of past due receivables and resolve open issues

• Ensure Accounts Payable invoices are paid per payment terms (3 way matching) and reconcile inter-company accounts

• Provide finance support on the cycle count program for completeness and accuracy

• Produce all necessary reports for month-end closing and maintain permanent accounting records.

Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge and experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to manage all Accounting Functions

• Strong Auditing skills

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Understanding and application of Cost - Basis accounting principles
