Aston Carter Senior Operations Accountant in Elk River, Minnesota
Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant for a client based in Elk River, MN.
Description:
Serve as finance/accounting lead for all aspects of fixed asset management; partnering with operations to manage assets-in-progress, asset additions, disposals, and overall tracking and maintenance of fixed assets register.
Appropriately identify and manage accounting for all leases within the organization.
Lead critical aspects of the month-end close process, including performing and approving various account recs.
Manage critical cost accounting tasks on a timely basis; completing standard cost setup for new items, rolling standard cost versions and creating revaluations as needed, as well as providing data and logic for allocation methodologies of overheads.
Serve as internal NetSuite systems expert on fixed asset and lease modules as well as cost accounting functionality, utilizing third party service support to build knowledge where needed.
Prepare and propose inventory reserve in partnership with planning and operations.
Provide internal controls leadership over critical operational balance sheet line items including, fixed assets, inventory, etc.
Support regular and ad hoc requests as needed; weekly vendor check runs, annual audit support, quarterly sales tax reporting, bank reporting, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
5+ years’ preferably in a manufacturing or CPG.
Experience with NetSuite ERP system preferred.
Solid grasp of cost accounting principles including standard costs and BOMs.
