Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems is currently hiring multiple Entry and Associate Product Security Engineers to join us as part of our Test Systems Design team for Space Electronics team located in El Segundo, CA. Our team is a critical part of Boeing's mission, ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced space electronics through the design, development, and validation of state-of-the-art testing equipment. Our engineers work on a variety of Special Test Equipment (STE) to validate space-grade electronics, from power and digital subsystems to RF/mixed signal systems.

In the ever-evolving arena of space technology, the STE team will also participate in research and development initiatives focusing on futuristic technologies such as advanced propulsion systems, spaceborne telescopes, and spacecraft for asteroid mining and space-based solar power systems.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Review, design, and implement a new suite of robust security measures to existing STE infrastructure and safeguard organizational systems and sensitive data.

  • Develop and implement data and end-user security through the STE requirement, design and operation lifecycle. This include defining the STE security architecture to meet all subsystems for integration into Boeing products.

  • Support detailed design for subsystem and system level STE within the power/digital, mixed signal and RF division; ensuring security of equipment, test data, network and resources within the STE.

  • Perform analysis of the test modeling and data to predict their behavior and performance within the test system. Utilize simulation tools like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Advanced Design System (ADS).

  • Design and conduct various testing methodologies to support designs and to gather data for technical performance measures. Use tools like Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to record and analyze data.

  • Provide software and cybersecurity technical support during the development and testing of space-qualified electronics. Troubleshoot any test data anomalies occurring during the integration and test of a test system or flight unit, as well as during subsequent delivery and system usage.

  • Make recommendations for the procurement of test equipment, ensuring the test setup has the right tools for the STE security measures.

  • Document security procedures, presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, and collaborating with multi-functional teams

  • Design, deploy and manage IT architectures including multiple different networks with different access requirements and standards, e.g. IT solutions for both government and commercial use cases

  • Advise customers and end users on maintaining product security and certification.

  • Use Python, LabView, C#, Agilent VEE, to help design automated tests for spacecraft modules, slices, and units. Ensuring data security is met throughout the testing phase.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This worksite participates in Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship . An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret, or Top Secret SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A CompTIA Security+ certification

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Cybersecurity

  • Experience with development and execution of a prioritized strategy and roadmap necessary to continually advance product security capabilities

  • Experience designing automated test systems for power/digital and RF/mixed signal systems.

  • Experience in threat and security assessments across wide use platforms such as Windows workstations

  • Knowledge and experience in control, analog, digital, or power supply circuit design to seamlessly integrate security within the system network

  • Software/coding experience using LabView, TestStand, C/C#, Python and MATLAB.

  • Experience with electronics laboratory instrumentation to troubleshoot circuit design and hardware manufacturing errors.

  • Active Security Clearance

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $85,850 - $116,150
