Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Capture Team Lead Business Development Representative to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, CA.

The selected candidate will lead government satellite strategy, sales, and campaign activities in accordance with the Boeing Integrated Business Acquisition Process (IBAP). This individual will lead the capture of new business for advanced MILSATCOM for Government Satellite Systems, this includes acquisitions for both the U.S government and international partners.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads in the development of campaign strategy and tactics using in-depth knowledge of warfighter and acquisitions customer needs, Boeing technologies, products, and services against the competitive environment

  • Collaborates with engineering, modeling and simulation, and program teams to assess warfighter needs, and tailor satellite solutions

  • Fosters a collaborative environment; working closely with cross-functional teams such as government and field operations, legislative affairs, contracts, and finance to support business objectives

  • Maps company resources to support customer needs, gain a competitive advantage, and foster business growth by developing a detailed understanding of specific Boeing technologies, products, and services, process and operations, and resources

  • Leads campaigns through business development gating processes in accordance with AS9100D International Quality Management Standards

  • Directly reports to Boeing senior level executives regarding business goals, objectives, and key decisions

  • Prepares annual reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market forecasts for senior management

  • Leverages detailed understanding of the customers' processes, procedures, techniques, organizations and culture - specific knowledge of US Department of Defense (DoD) operations, tactics and acquisition

  • Gathers and analyzes relevant information (e.g., political environment and competitive assessment) from internal and external sources to support strategy development and alignment across the Boeing enterprise

  • Identifies future business opportunities and promote the value of Boeing portfolio and partnership

  • Initiates and advances customer relationships to be accepted as a trusted business partner by the customer

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to promote satellite products and services

  • Identify potential risks in business development initiatives and develop mitigation strategies

  • Provides guidance to more junior employees regarding capturing and documenting detailed customer knowledge and assist in network development

  • Ensures all business development activities comply with relevant regulations, including export control laws, ITAR, and FAR/DFAR

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years’ experience with space, launch vehicle, satellite programs or other complex systems

  • Experience in team or project leadership

  • Experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field

  • Experience working with Military or DoD customers

  • Experience in supporting proposals

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Familiar with the Government (political) / Defense Requirements and Acquisition processes

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 20% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: USD $143,350 – $196,650
