Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Payroll Accountant for a contract position with our firm based in El Segundo, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring our payroll systems and processes are compliant and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance of payroll systems, processes, and corporate policies.
Manage and direct vendors, audits, and process improvements related to payroll activities.
Implement process improvements and cost optimization through data analytics and best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex payroll issues with various stakeholders.
Provide training and mentorship to payroll specialists.
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of ten years of relevant payroll experience.
Proven experience in payroll administration, including complex calculations and analysis.
In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws, with experience in compliance.
Experience with SSA, IRS, and multiple state and local taxation rules.
Proficiency in advanced payroll software, HRIS systems, and data analysis tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
Experience interacting with internal and external auditors.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry.
Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to adapt to changing payroll regulations and technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Fundamental Payroll Certification).
Experience with SAP.
Experience with Workday.
Experience with ADP.
