Robert Half Payroll Accountant in El Segundo, California

Description

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Payroll Accountant for a contract position with our firm based in El Segundo, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring our payroll systems and processes are compliant and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of payroll systems, processes, and corporate policies.

  • Manage and direct vendors, audits, and process improvements related to payroll activities.

  • Implement process improvements and cost optimization through data analytics and best practices.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex payroll issues with various stakeholders.

  • Provide training and mentorship to payroll specialists.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of ten years of relevant payroll experience.

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, including complex calculations and analysis.

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws, with experience in compliance.

  • Experience with SSA, IRS, and multiple state and local taxation rules.

  • Proficiency in advanced payroll software, HRIS systems, and data analysis tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.

  • Experience interacting with internal and external auditors.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to adapt to changing payroll regulations and technologies.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.

  • Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Fundamental Payroll Certification).

  • Experience with SAP.

  • Experience with Workday.

  • Experience with ADP.
