SUNRAY FAMILY DENTISTRY PLLC Dental Assistant in El Paso, Texas

Experience: Not a factor. The employer is willing to provide on the job training.

** Previous Dental experience is a plus

Education: Technical School - Vocational Schooling is required per policy

Language: English required(Spanish is a plus) to communicate with clients and staff.

**Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.

Requirements: - Must have a Dental Assistant Certification - Must submit to a background check

Duties:

  1. Preparing Patients for Treatment: Assisting patients in the dental chair, preparing them for exams or procedures, and ensuring their comfort.

  2. Sterilizing Equipment: Ensuring that all dental instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and properly maintained.

  3. Assisting During Procedures: Helping the dentist by handing instruments, mixing materials, and providing suction during dental treatments.

  4. Taking X-Rays: Positioning patients and dental equipment to take high-quality radiographs (X-rays) as needed for diagnosis.

  5. Managing Patient Records: Updating and maintaining patient charts, noting treatment plans, and documenting medical histories.

  6. Providing Post-Procedure Care: Giving patients instructions on post-treatment care and answering any questions regarding their recovery.

  7. Handling Administrative Tasks: Scheduling appointments, managing patient appointments, processing billing, and sometimes managing insurance claims.

  8. Patient Education: Educating patients on oral health, proper brushing and flossing techniques, and ways to improve their overall oral hygiene.

  9. Preparing Materials: Mixing dental materials, such as fillings, crowns, and impressions, for use during procedures.

  10. Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensuring that the treatment area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

These duties can vary depending on the office, but they all center around providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team effectively.

Shift: 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday 8am - 2pm Friday
