Summary About the position: This position will be assigned High Desert Lanes Bowling on Edwards AFB, Ca. You must be 21 years of age, to sell alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities Responsible for lanes counter operation to include: lane assignments, rental shoes, locker rentals, taking reservations for Unit Functions and Parties, setting up for parties and leagues, selling of pro shop items, and selling of alcohol and vending items. Collects and accounts for all cash. Performs fire and security checks. Signs for and receives snack bar and pro shop items. Maintains order and cleanliness of facility. Makes corrective adjustments to bowling center machinery. Performs Lock out Tag out on automatic pinsetter equipment. Advises manager of suggestions, complaints, or incidents. May be required to assist in snack bar, which could include taking phone orders and/or operating cash register. Will open or close center on assigned shifts; will be responsible that the center is locked, trash is removed, and that all electrical equipment is turned off for the night. May work uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and down days. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must have a neat and clean appearance and have a clear speaking voice. Practical knowledge of the sport of bowling is desirable. Must be able to learn new procedures and exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers. Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash and resale items including direct handling of cash receipts and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be of the required age to sell alcoholic beverages. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) prior to employment. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
