About this role

The Global Workplace Experience team is responsible for delivery of a workplace environment for employees and visitors that is customer focused, enables efficiency, reflects the BlackRock culture, and operates with efficiency. The team works with stakeholders, internal partners and vendors to ensure consistent service delivery and provide a well-managed workplace that meets business needs.

Role Responsibility:

The Associate of Travel Services will be a part of a team that is responsible for the strategic and operational management of travel related services of the firm’s global travel program. The Associate will be responsible to support the firm’s air, hotel, ground transportation, policy compliance, travel technologies and for related vendor management activities.

The Associate will also co-manage a team of BlackRock specialists and vendor personnel to ensure the global delivery of services at a level that is consistent and aligned to the requirements of local offices within a framework of global service delivery.

In addition, the Associate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of vendor governance are further developed and applied to key vendors. This will include managing processes and tools to detail vendor performance according to agreed standards, maintaining regular and consistent oversight of issues, risks and deliverables to ensure consistent delivery by vendor partners.

General responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership. Co-Lead overall strategy development for the Global Travel Services, including:

  • Demonstrate and build an ongoing understanding of the latest category trends including new tools and technologies

  • Support BlackRock’s Sustainability objectives within each category, establishing targets and ensuring execution against them

  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant policies and procedures, ensuring all processes are run effectively, efficiently and within business parameters.

  • Client services for traveler and arrangers support across all aspects of the travel program

  • Vendor Management: Provide oversight for management of relationships with suppliers and vendors, including BlackRock’s 3rd party travel management service provider

  • Engage with global and regional collaborators to ensure alignment with vendor performance requirements. Ensure that regular performance reviews are conducted, and that sourcing activities are regularly held to ensure the best available quality and pricing. Work with vendor leadership to drive high performance and best value for BlackRock

  • Partner with BlackRock Resilience Safety teams to provide traveler support during a crisis or individual event. Establish and support the execution of travel risk measures set by the resilience team

  • Financial management: Provide consistent oversight and management of established financial objectives

  • Client engagement: Ensure consistent engagement and communication with business collaborators to understand and craft requirements and provide channels for regular feedback on workplace performance, employee experience and client happiness. Work as a strategic partner with regional and office leadership to develop strategic real estate and workplace initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience and ability to work in virtual/global teams in a matrix environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong analytical skills (financial, spend, supply market, etc.) supported by proficiency in the use of computer applications, , data analysis tools including spreadsheets for financial analysis and travel management solutions

  • High degree of organization and ability to run multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation, contracting and implementation. Experience in supplier relationship management, KPI and performance management

  • Demonstrated project or program management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to gain consensus through teamwork

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in handling Travel in a large corporate program with global responsibilities. International experience a strong plus

  • 2-3 years team management experience

  • Experience in working in customer and business facing environments with knowledge of Travel processes and solutions to drive outstanding customer service and operational efficiency.
