Overview

Diageo is embarking on a substantial digital transformation of its Supply Chain & Procurement operations. This multiyear Digital Supply Chain (DSC) programme will deliver significant financial and operation benefits to the business across Supply, Marketing and Indirects Productivity, as well as Cash through inventory reduction. This programme will step change the way we work across Supply Chain & Procurement, unlocking the digital potential of our people and operations across the globe.

This critical role will lead DSC delivery, partnering closely with the leads of the 6 priority programmes, as well as with the enabling functions such as HR, Finance, Corporate Relations etc who will work together to deliver the programme in a coordinated and consistent manner.

The Supply Chain Digital Programme Lead will run the Transformation Management Office (TMO), which will stand across the full scope of the programme. The role will involve governing the end-to-end execution of the programme, from planning and prioritisation to implementation and benefit realisation. A further critical role of the TMO team is to ensure alignment and consistency across the portfolio, ensuring the full potential delivery of this significant shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the DSC vision, scope, objectives, and business case, ensuring ongoing alignment with the overall Supply Chain & Procurement Strategy.

  • Govern the programme budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, deliverables and landmarks, ensuring adherence to the agreed standards and ways of working set by the TMO.

  • Lead across the programme to ensure all elements of a truly digital (people, process, data and technology) step change are achieved through a network of external consultants, project managers, change managers, data specialists, and D&T teams.

  • Engage and communicate effectively with senior collaborators within the programme (e.g. Pillar Leads and Sponsors), with the President of Supply as well as members of the Executive Team including the CEO and CFO to update on progress.

  • Monitor and report on the portfolio progress, performance, and benefits realisation, making appropriate interventions should the trajectory go off track.

  • Identify and raise any portfolio level conflicts, issues, risks, or interdependencies that may impact the overall portfolio delivery or value (including large programmes outside DSC).

  • Through D&T ensure the programme solution is aligned with the overall DSC solution architecture and integrity.

  • Drive agile and innovative ways of working within the programme and across the portfolio, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in leading and delivering complex and large-scale transformation programmes, preferably in the supply chain or digital domain.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the supply chain function, processes, and challenges, and the opportunities and benefits of digital transformation.

  • Proven track record of managing programme budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables, and delivering outcomes and benefits on time, on scope, and on budget.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, partner management, and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and align teams and collaborators towards a common vision and goal.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.

  • Proficient in agile and digital delivery methods and tools, and able to coach and mentor others on best practices and ways of working.

  • Externally curious, with an ability to distil down and act upon useful external insight and provocation.

  • Passionate about innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
