AWS Backup enables customers to centralize and automate protection across AWS services. AWS Backup offers a cost-effective, fully managed, policy-based service that further simplifies protection at scale. AWS Backup also helps our customers to support their regulatory compliance obligations and meets their business continuity goals.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to grow this service and help with adding features and integration with other AWS services. If you have the skills to create large scale web applications then we are looking for you.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team designing a solution within a fast growing business, shape the technology, product and the business. You should bring technical and software expertise, the ability to deliver solid code that has a broad business impact and the ability to create software that achieves its operational goals.

This role relies on your abilities to build, launch and operate highly scalable services. In this role, you will build new features, identify and investigate new technologies, prototype solutions, and test and review changes, to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will also get the opportunity to work with other partner services.

Work/Life Balance

Our team puts a value on work-life balance. While this role is primarily based in East Palo Alto, the team is also based in San Francisco so there is flexibility to work temporarily where it makes the most sense. Similarly, we understand there are times when people occasionally need to work remote and aim for schedule flexibility by aiming to keep meetings primarily between 10am to 4pm.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
