Position Summary

CLASSIFICATION: Engagement Center Manager

Basic Function

With guidance and input from institutional partners engaged in student success, the Manager ensures that the programmatic functions and activities of the Engagement Center progress toward the intended outcomes of the Neighborhood Student Success Center (NSSC).

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

50%

Lead/partner in the development of institutional and broader NSSC priorities through the efforts of identified focus areas including, but not limited to: Campus and Community Initiatives; Learning and Development; Marketing, Branding and Communications; Intercultural Awareness and Engagement; and High Impact Experiences and Experiential Learning.

30%

Provides leadership for assessment of neighborhood program and resource effectiveness, including data-driven decisions utilizing information from a variety of sources.

Convenes the neighborhood Core and Success Teams with representatives from various colleges, Residence Education, Culinary Services, the neighborhood health clinics, on-site academic advising services, CAPS, campus police and other neighborhood partners, which may vary by neighborhood.

Provides pertinent information to the Assistant Dean for Student Success Initiatives and Director of the Neighborhood Student Success Center (NSSC) to engage other campus partners, evaluate impact, and generate reports to ensure the quality and access of student support services for intellectual development, increased sense of belonging and sustain institutional navigation.

Partners with various university and neighborhood-based partners to educate resident mentors, cultural aides, and college/program student leaders about Engagement Center resources, and to enlist their help in educating other student residents.

Partners with other Neighborhood Engagement Managers to coordinate common activities, tap additional resources, compare assessment data, and share best practices.

Establishes relationships with colleges and other academic support units to build collaborative partnerships to assist with institutional navigation and general academic support/success.

Enables the provision of services, programs and activities in the neighborhood that are affiliated with all partners and practitioners engaged in student success efforts.

Manages use of Engagement Center space and assists with access to other potential programmatic spaces (e.g., classrooms, academic support, and other resources for student success).

Partners with various university and neighborhood-based partners to educate resident mentors, cultural aides, and college/program student leaders about Engagement Center resources, and to enlist their help in educating other student residents.

Establishes relationships with colleges and other academic support units to build collaborative partnerships to assist with institutional navigation and general academic support/success.

Hires and supervises clerical staff.

Manages neighborhood project/programming budget.
