Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a General Laborer, where you will be responsible for packaging steel off conveyor/packaging lines, banding steel using an air gun, down ending material, weighing the final product, and conducting visual inspections of steel coils. You will also interpret paperwork and read work orders, as well as place cardboard on steel coils to protect them from denting or scratching. The position requires flexibility to train on the first shift and availability to work both first and second shift schedules.

This is a fully on-site position in East Chicago, Indiana.
Work Environment
The facility has been recently renovated with newer lighting, machines, and equipment, maintaining a very clean and temperature-regulated environment to prevent steel from rusting. Big fans keep the environment cool, with heaters in place during winter. The management takes pride in maintaining a clean facility and values it as a selling point for future business. The company promotes a culture of internal growth, where many current managers, including the Plant Manager and Supervisors, started from the production floor.
